Open Access & Content Attribution Policy

We index open-access scholarship — we do not own it. This page explains exactly what Shubhaarti Digital Library is, where its content comes from, and what rights we hold.

Last updated:

Summary in plain language

  • We are a software platform — not a publisher or content owner.
  • Every article, journal, or book in our catalogue is open-access and publicly available.
  • We source content only from recognised OA repositories (OpenAlex, CORE, DOAJ, arXiv, PMC).
  • We clearly attribute each record to its original authors and publishers.
  • Institutional subscribers pay for our software and curation — not for restricted content.
  • We process takedown requests within 7 business days.

What Shubhaarti Digital Library does

Shubhaarti Digital Library is a software platform that aggregates, organises, and delivers bibliographic metadata and open-access full-text records from publicly available scholarly sources.

We do not author, publish, or own any of the academic articles, periodicals, theses, conference proceedings, or books that appear in our catalogue. Every record in our system originates from an external publisher, institution, or repository that has made its content freely available under an open-access licence or has deposited it into a public archive.

Where our content comes from

All records indexed on this platform are sourced exclusively from recognised open-access channels, including but not limited to those listed below. Every source is linked, so any claim made here can be checked against the source itself.

No paywalled, subscription-only, or copyrighted-restricted content is intentionally ingested. If you believe a record in our catalogue should not be here, please contact us immediately at subscriptions@shubhaarti.in.

What we own and what we do not

We own: • The Shubhaarti Digital Library software platform (reader, search engine, access control, analytics) • The classification taxonomy, domain structure, and navigation design • Any original descriptions, summaries, or organisational annotations authored by our editorial team

We do not own: • The text, figures, or data of any indexed article, journal, thesis, book, or proceeding • Any intellectual property belonging to the original authors or publishers • The right to grant licences on content we did not create

Users of this platform access content subject to the licence terms set by the original rights-holders. Where a document is published under a Creative Commons licence, that licence applies directly between the user and the rights-holder.

Our service is a software product, not a content publisher

Shubhaarti Digital Library charges for access to its software — the organised, searchable, domain-structured interface through which open-access content can be discovered and read.

This is equivalent to paying for a premium library management system or a reading application: the software experience is the product. The underlying content is open-access and freely available on the public web; we provide a curated, institutional-grade environment for accessing it efficiently.

Institutional subscribers pay for: • Domain-wise curated collections and structured access control • In-browser reading with progress tracking and analytics • A managed, organised catalogue across 40+ academic disciplines • Continuous ingestion of newly published open-access works

Attribution and copyright

Every record displayed on this platform shows the original author names, publisher name, journal or source title, DOI, ISSN/ISBN, and publication year wherever that data is available. Where full text is accessible, a direct link to the publisher's original page is also provided.

If you are an author or publisher and wish to have a specific record removed from our index, please write to us at subscriptions@shubhaarti.in with the title, DOI, or URL of the record in question. We will review valid takedown requests as soon as reasonably practicable.

Disclaimer of warranty on content accuracy

Bibliographic metadata is ingested automatically from third-party sources. While we strive for accuracy, we cannot guarantee that all metadata (titles, authors, abstracts, DOIs) is free of error. We do not verify the scientific accuracy or peer-review status of any article.

Shubhaarti Digital Library is not responsible for any reliance placed on content discovered through this platform. Users should always verify information against the original published source.
